1. Description of the course:
Full time (3 years)
The full time diploma in engineering shall extend over a period of three academic years, consisting of 6 semesters*. The first year is common for all engineering branches.

The curriculum for all the 6 semesters of the diploma courses (engineering & special diploma courses viz. Textile Technology, Leather Technology, Printing Technology, Chemical Technology etc.) has been revised. The revised curriculum is applicable for candidates admitted from the 2015-2016 academic year onwards.

Eligibility for the award of diploma:
No candidate shall be eligible for the diploma unless he/she has undergone the prescribed course of study for a period of not less than three academic years in any institution affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Tamil Nadu, when joined in the first year and two years, when joined under the lateral entry scheme in the second year and passed the prescribed examination.
