  • Dr.Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar

    Rajah Sir Annamalai Chettiar was a visionary of his times; A renowned Industrialist, Educationalist and Philanthropist. Following his initiation into the family’s banking business and trade, the Rajah of Chettinad founded the Indian Bank. A patron of Arts, he also founded the Tamil Isai Changam. In recognition of his unique services to the cause of learning, a Knighthood, and the distinction of a hereditary Rajah of Chettinad was conferred on him by the King of Great Britain. The Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department issued a commemorative stamp in honor of this multifaceted legendary whose philosophy was to strive, save and serve.






  • Dr. Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar

    Dr. Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar, continued the family’s legacy and the endeavors started by his father, Rajah Sir Muthiah Chettiar’s passion and interest lay in civic and public life. His flair for politics and his vast experience in business, industry and education enriched his contribution to governing decisions. Sir Muthiah was elected the first Mayor of Madras in 1933 after that particular office was reinstated and again in 1934. He represented the South India Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Madras Legislative Council. Rajah Muthiah Chettiar was knighted for his stupendous contribution to the nation and humankind by the King of Great Britain and was invested by the Viceroy on June 24, 1941. Sir Muthiah Chettiar was bestowed the Padma Bhushan by the Indian Government for his noble contributions. The Tamil Nadu Government hailed him as the Tamil Isai Kavalar in recognition of his passion for his services to the cause of Tamil Language, Tamil Literature, Tamil music and culture. The Indian government honoured him with a postal stamp issued in his memory on December 21, 1987.















  • Dr.M.A.M.Ramaswamy

    Dr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy, born in the noble legacy is a zealous Philanthropist, Industrialist and Sportsman. Dr. M.A.M. Ramaswamy is the Chancellor, Chettinad Health City and President, Gandhinagar Education Society. He is well known for his passion for sports. During his stewardship as the President of the Indian Hockey Federation, India won its only World Cup Hockey Championship till date. He has to his credit, the unique achievement of having won more than a 100 classic races on the Indian turf which has been published in the Guinness book of records.






  • Mr.M.A.M.R.Muthiah

    A visionary and dynamic industrialist known for his business acumen and excellent management skills Mr. Muthiah heads the Chettinad group as its Director. He has spearheaded the growth and multifold expansion of this business conglomerate. A proactive planner, his foray into a multitude of new initiatives have paved the way for diversification and establishment of several new organizations. Mr. Muthiah initiated the establishment of Chettinad Health City and plays a pivotal role in its management.
